RIGHT BELIEVING

Rom 6:11
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. [KJV]

When Eleojo was thirteen years old, he was introduced to smoking. As he grew older, he became addicted to other drugs. He received Christ when he was on campus at the age of 22. But he had a big struggle overcoming his addictions: he believed it was impossible to conquer them and certain sins. His victory started when he fully understood Rom 6:11.

Our Bible text today says we should consider ourselves dead to sin but alive unto God through Christ. Many times, Christians are defeated because they still consider themselves alive to sin: they still believe in their hearts that they cannot conquer certain sins.
You see, everything we do with God is done by faith. Our faith is based on God’s word and not on our experiences or our feelings. What today’s text reveals to us is that we should change the way we see ourselves; we should begin to see ourselves as dead to sin. We should believe this and say what we believe. This is how we cooperate with God to allow his transformation.

As you go into today, determine from this moment to believe and say only the things that God says concerning you. You should no longer believe according to your weaknesses or your past experiences but according to God’s word.

Go into today meditating on this: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

*You will act right when you start believing right.

Prayer Confession: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am walking in the Divine nature and pleasing God in all respects. The grace of God is empowering me to do this, in Jesus name. Amen.
