2 Peter 1:4

by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [NKJV]

Being partakers of the divine nature is God’s plan for all of us and this is what makes us walk in the supernatural. We saw yesterday that the way through which we contact this nature is through God’s promises that we hear and believe; they are the link through which we access the divine nature given to us.

But this is the second part. The first part about accessing the divine nature is to first escape the corruption that is in the world, and humans link with this corruption through lusts.

Corruption in this context can be defined as the product of an absence from the life of God. When something has lost it’s life, it dies, and the next stage is corruption. The way to escape this corruption that comes through lust is to live a life that is led by the Spirit. Walking in the spirit means walking above lusts. Rom 8:6 says ‘For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace’ [ESV]

Go into today determining to magnify the Spirit part of you and diminish the flesh in your life. This means you should give more priority to the things that enhance your spiritual life than the things that only enhance your flesh life.

Confession: I am walking in the Spirit; I am walking in the divine nature. I am walking above lust, greed and pride, in Jesus name. Amen
