Jn 9:35
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? [KJV]

The Lord Jesus had performed a miraculous sign. It is possible the man had no eye socket considering the furor that attended the event. Jn 9:32 says 'Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind'.

If it was a thing never seen since Creation, then only the Creator could do it. This man that was healed attested to. And for that, he was cast out of the Synagogue. To be cast out of the Synagogue in those days was to be excluded from the cherished privileges of a Jew. It must be very painful.

Indeed the pain of rejection is much. Scientists say the same part of the brain activated when the body is inflicted with physical pain is the same when he feels rejected. Man was created for fellowship. He is a social being and there is a deep need to belong. Many social vices are traced to a feeling of rejection that was not met. Many have resorted to dangerous habits in the bid to satisfy their longing for acceptance.

Here in our main text, the Lord found the rejected man. He 'found' must mean that He searched for him. Jesus is still seeking the rejected. Have you been living in rejection? Do you know people who feel rejected? In Jesus is fulfillment.

Go into today with a message to the rejected. Jesus accepts them. Help rejected people find the embrace of Jesus.

Pray for someone you know who feels rejected. Ask Jesus to fill his heart. Amen.
