THE EXAMPLE CHURCH 2b

Acts 2:42

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. [KJV]

Yesterday, I tried to explain that the entire New Testament, especially the epistles written by the Lord’s apostles are very necessary for the building of the church. I have come across Christians who believe some erroneous ideas that try to discredit the writings of Apostle Paul in the Bible. I have also come to discover that such ideas are a ploy from the pit of hell to stunt the growth of Christians. Anyone who only reads the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament may not understand real Christianity.

Jesus Himself said that there were so many things He wanted to teach but His disciples were not ready to receive them at the time He was physically on the earth, but that when the Holy Spirit comes, He would guide them into all truth(see John 16:12-13). What you find in the epistles are doctrines from the apostles which they received from the Lord according to His promise that they would be tough by the Holy Spirit.

One thing the doctrine of the apostles establishes in the believer is ‘Christ formed in us’ (see Gal 4:19, Jam 1:18, 1Joh 2:1-6); our lives are to be expressions of Christ on the earth.

Go into today knowing that as a Christian, you have received the ability from God to express His divine nature. His spirit lives in you and empowers you to do this.

Prayer: Thank the Lord for bringing you into this day that He is making glorious.

Ask God to empower you to live a life that expresses Christ more, on a daily basis.

Amen.
