1 Jn 2:2

…and he himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world.

NET

Ifain was tired of the way he was now living since he started his NYSC. He got convicted while listening to a sermon he had saved on his phone when a vibrant believer in school. He decided to starve himself for seven days as penance for his many sins. He was going about it the wrong way and was going to expose himself to unclean spirits. But the lord used Damina his flat mate to correct and restore him.

It is ok to fast and pray because you want to seek God’s face and receive grace to overcome a besetting sin that is hindering you from reaching your potential and destiny in God, it is ok to give yourself strict rules to help keep you in check. But it is wrong, very wrong, to do any of these with the impression that they will somehow help pay for your sins. Let me break the news to you; YOU CAN NEVER PAY FOR YOUR SINS, you cannot afford the price.

Many times, people don’t know that it is pride and not brokenness that makes them want to suffer for their sins; they want to feel that they have earned repentance and peace with God. Jesus alone is the atoning sacrifice (payment) for our sins.

Go into today accepting that Jesus has paid for your sins. He has suffered for your sins so you will not suffer for them. Believing this and Having  faith in Him is the first key to receiving grace to live above sin.

Prayer: thank you father for saving me and bringing me to your glorious kingdom. I pray you help me walk always in your will, in Jesus name. Amen
