Lamentations 3:27
“ It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.” KJV
It is good to stay under the yoke of Jesus, that is, divine disciplinary dealings while you are young. If you look at any life that has been used greatly by the Lord in the past, you will notice that such a life has gone through such dealings with the Lord before he/she became useful in God’s hands. The beloved apostle John wrote “I write to you young men because you are strong..” (1 John 2:14). You see, the time of youth is a time of strength, and you need to learn how to submit to the Lordship of Jesus and take His yoke upon you. Whatever you need to do (in staying under divine disciplinary dealings), do it now that you still have that youthful strength, because when you grow older, you won’t be that strong.
Our lord said “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Mat 11:29). Listen to Ravi Zecharias “ He has made us for Himself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in You.” Friends, true rest comes when you take the yoke of Jesus on you. Submit to His yoke of discipline:
· Silently reflect on what God wants you to do.
· Repent with humility
· Be patient; there is a lesson in every situation you go through
· Depend on God
Prayer: father, please help me to take the yoke of Jesus upon me as I go out today, grant me the grace to be humble in Jesus name, amen.
