Luke 21:34
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares
KJV
As we commemorate the birth of Christ this season, let us pay much closer attention to ourselves (see Heb 2:1).
Christ has been born and has fulfilled his purpose for coming to the earth – to die for the salvation of mankind – and has returned home. What about you? You are here on the earth now. Would your life count just as Christ’s? What would you be remembered for; a life lived in hypocrisy or a life fulfilling purpose? (See Prov 10:7, Mk 14:9). Has the work of Christ been settled in your life?
All the prophecy concerning Christ’s birth to the minutest details – the nation, place of birth, period of birth, tribe, family, humility, deity and destiny – were fulfilled in His first coming. And the very same Scripture is replete with prophecy concerning His second coming. Would you be ready when he comes or would you be caught unawares? (See Rom 13:11-13, 1 Thess 5:2-6).
Go into today determined to live a life of purpose just like our lord did. You shall be celebrated in Jesus name. Amen
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I thank you for coming to this sinful world to save me and give me a life. Just as you fulfilled the prophecies concerning your life, please help me to wholly accept and walk in God’s purpose for my life and fulfill it. Amen (see Heb 10:7).
