Jesus (part 1)

LISTEN TO AUDIO VERSION

Heb 1:3-5

The Son radiates God's own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. 4 This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names.

NLT

Jesus who is talked about here is referred to as the exact representation of God’s character and glory.

Because God is spirit, we being flesh found it difficult to experience Him in any level except that he revealed himself to the prophets (see Heb 1:1) and this is probably because of the nature of prophets that makes them to easily relate and perceive the spirit realm more than others. God has now revealed Himself to us humans through Jesus who is God come in the flesh.

This means that even though you cannot see God and may never be able to see God(the glory of God) with your eyes (especially if you are not a prophet) you can now see Jesus who was made flesh and is now having a body that the redeemed will eventually have. This body that he has is visible to all flesh ( see Rev 1:7).

So in order for us to relate with God being spirit and we being flesh (see Gen 6:3), God had to become flesh and express his nature and himself to us so that we may be able to see Him and worship Him and get salvation from Him. We were not made to become flesh, being flesh is a result and consequence of the fall. We originally wouldn’t have needed Jesus to come in order for us to experience God.

When a man becomes redeemed and righteous (i.e. born again), he becomes a prophet before God (see psalm 105:15). Thereby he can experience the fullness of the Godhead and Jesus who is his mediator and savior and lord. It is indeed a great thing to be born again. It is the greatest thing that can happen to any human being.

Prayer confession for the day:

I am born again. God has made me a new creature. I am no more fleshly, I am now spiritual. The life of Christ flows in me. I am a victor, the power of God is making things work out for me… God has made me his anointed and prophet.

The bible says:

Ps 105:14-15

He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
