I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU
Heb 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

I have come to discover that one of the major reasons money is so powerful is because it provides security; having money means there will be food to eat and water to drink, there will be cloth to wear and ability to pay bills…etc.
There is tendency to be covetous and love money because of the need for all forms of security that money can provide. God does not want this for His children because He is more than money and money can take His place in their hearts. When you have God in your life, it is better than having all the things in this world because He created all things; He wants you to have more than you could ever work for and He doesn’t want your attention to shift away from Him to material things. He wants to remain the center of your heart because that is the best for you.
One of the strongest forces against total trust in the lord is love of money. You use money, you need money, but you cannot afford to love money because loving it means you cannot love God. You cannot serve God and mammon (Luke 16:24). The love of money is the root of all evil.
When one loves money, it means the most important thing in that person’s life is making money and not pleasing and worshiping God; he goes to church because he wants God to open doors of money for him, he prays because he wants God to bless him financially and do other such things… they do all they do because of an inert want for more money.
We are not to be like that as children of God. We are to be different from the world and the most important thing to us as children of God should be pleasing and worshiping God; being in His presence. Remember, He is the ultimate source of security. God will cause a all grace to abound towards you so that in all things you will see His abundance and wisdom such that you can keep your love for Him intact and lead a glorious life here on earth. Remember to make Him your ultimate goal in life and do not stop loving Him beyond all else.
PRAYER: thank you dear father for filling our hearts with your love. We pray that love for money or any other thing will never dominate our hearts; that we will always love you above all else. We pray this in Jesus mighty name. Amen
