Ps 100:5

For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

Why we should recognize that the lord is good is because a working conviction of this truth will be a great gain as we seek to know God more. When it sinks into your spirit that the lord your God is good; it further helps as a filter to discern what God’s word and will is per time. The more of God and His nature you know, the more difficult it will be for you to be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine; the cunning and craftiness of men that deceive in the name of God.

There are some people who say they have revelations of Jesus and heaven but tell stories about our lord that only suggest He is not really a good God. They tell stories that present God as a wicked task master; they brought back new laws instead of teaching us about the grace of God (which is opposite of the laws), they never talked about the Holy Spirit or any such essential truth that will help Christians overcome sins and grow. Condemnation characterizes their messages mixed with a feeling that no one can make it (to heaven). They rightfully feel so since they have embarked on a journey to heaven by their own strength and ability to keep the laws they brought. These laws are supposed to be kept in order for them to enter heaven (they seek to enter God’s kingdom and heaven by their own strength and their own wisdom). They do not know that no law they can keep can qualify them for entrance into heaven or even the kingdom of God; that grace which teaches us how to live is what can accomplishes this for us and grace is administered by the Holy Spirit who they rarely mention in their sermons.

When you know God for yourself, you will be convinced that He is good and any message or prophesy that will lead to a contrary deduction is false.

Prayer: Dear heavenly father. I thank you for your love and grace you have given me; I thank you that I get to know you personally as father. I pray that your love will be shed abroad in my heart that I may radiate your goodness to all I come in contact with. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
