Ye are the light of the world.
A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

The light that
Jesus is talking about here is clearly not a physical one. When He tells us to
let our light so shine, He is referring to Spiritual light; that light that
makes for spiritual life just as physical light facilitates physical life. So when
He says a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid, He is not referring to the
physical as much as He is referring to the spiritual. This is a wakeup call and
great news to all who have been blessed
to be chosen to shine the light of our great lord and savior. He wants you to
know that the principalities and powers and all spiritual forces are aware of
your existence and glory.
When you choose
to shine this light, you become a dwelling for the lord Himself. This also
means that you are known and particularly noticed by God, the creator of heaven
and earth. You also need to remember that just as physical light effortlessly dispels
darkness, your spiritual light drives those principalities and spirits of
darkness far away from your wavelength.
Prayer: our
dear heavenly father, we thank you for making us shine your light and showing
the world your glory. I pray that our light will continue to shine brighter and
never dim, in Jesus name. Amen.
