Christ Lives in Me

Gal 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me
NKJV

In a Nigerian movie I watched many years ago, there was this young man who lived a ruthless and debouched lifestyle; he never really had an opportunity to give his life to Jesus Christ until One day after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident and was about to die on the hospital bed; He was led to Christ by a reverend and he decided on his death bed to accept Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. Hours later he died…the movie allegorized a court in heaven where after the man died and was to be judged, the devil was the prosecuting attorney against the young man, Jesus was the defending lawyer for the young man, the Holy Spirit was the witness in support of the young man while satan’s demons were the witnesses against him. God was the supreme judge. Satan argued that the young man didn’t deserve to go to paradise (even though he accepted Christ before he died) because he lived most of his life in sin and under his dominion. Jesus on the other hand said the young man was to go to paradise because he accepted salvation in His name before he died…when witnesses were brought, the Holy Spirit witnessed in support of the man; that he had accepted Christ. When satan brought in his witnesses, he brought the demon of lust who witnessed against the man; that he was a customer of his merchandise. Satan brought in several other demons who witnessed against the young man; they all testified that they knew him very well because they used to live in him when he was in the world. Finally, satan said ‘my lord, I want to bring in the spirit of lying and let me prove that this man should not enter paradise, you said all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire…’ When the spirit of lying came into the witness box, satan asked him if he knew the man, the spirit of lying looked very keenly on the man, took his time to observe and then said looking very sincerely “ I don’t know him, I have never seen him or lived in him even for one minute” satan was infuriated at the spirit of lying because he expected him to say that he used to live in the man-which would have been the truth, but, the spirit of lying just had to lie, that is it’s nature. Off course satan lost the case.
So it is with a man that is possessed by such a spirit.
When a man is possessed with an unclean spirit, that man cannot but express the nature of that spirit. There are some people that must just steal even for no good reason, some others must tell lies, others must lust etc. A man usually behaves in the nature of the spirit that lives in him.
When the spirit of Jesus Christ (who is the Holy Ghost), lives in you, you cannot but live out and express the nature of Jesus-These are what is called the fruit of the Spirit.
You need to pray to God every day to fill you afresh with the Holy Spirit. The concept of being filled exists only because there is the possibility of not being filled. You need to walk every day with a consciousness of the Holy Spirit’s presence within you-this is how to walk in the spirit.
