Unity in the Body

Eph 4:14
 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
KJV
One of the basic differences between spiritual babes and those who have grown in the faith is the ability to not be swayed by new/strange doctrines or revelations.
The number of years you have been a Christian is not directly proportional to the state of your spiritual life. There are indeed a number of people who have been Christians for years and are yet still spiritual babes.
The preceding verses to our bible text talks about that fact that the ministries the Lord gives to His ministers are for the body of Christ such that people receiving these ministries would grow and not be deceived.
Any Christian who locks himself to a particular denomination or minister such that he doesn’t receive from any other will have deficiency in his spiritual growth.
God who is rich in wisdom did not deposit all that you need to grow in one place or denomination.
If the whole body was the head or only depended on the head as its source, what hand would feed the mouth or what heart would pump the blood?
We live dangerously when we listen to only one man or ministry as our source of spiritual substance. The early church didn’t, we shouldn’t.
When last did you buy a book that will help you develop your spiritual life; when last did you read or listen to a material that is not from your denomination?
It is only spiritual babes that are ignorant such that they are swayed by every wind of doctrine. As you grow, you know to separate what is good for you from what is toxic for you. But you can only grow when you receive from the diverse ministries the lord has made available for you albeit not only in your local denomination or ministry.
